Understanding how to draw the structures of the face, looking closely at the skull, “rules” of feature drawing and placement and planes of the face.
OR
Rene — TEXTURE
In a spirit of playfulness, learn to make subtle to highly textured surfaces using acrylic mediums on watercolor paper for painting on later.
AFTERNOON —
Chris & Rene / SKIN TONE RECIPES (2 demos)
Two ways to create good skin tones
Practice time

Drawing skills are essential, both are worthwhile

Day 2 / TUESDAY

Day 3 — WEDNESDAY

MORNING — Looking at VALUE and SHAPE in your paintings

Rene / CREATING SHAPES, DRAWING CONTOURS
As a framework for design in the portrait
Chris / USING NOTANIZER to map value shapes
AFTERNOON — Working time

Day 4 — THURSDAY

Chris / EDGES—Helping the eye flow through the painting (short discussion and demo)
