My paintings “Seduced By A Peony”and “Chrysanthemum Spirit” will be there…
“I reveled in the fragrance of the peonies my grandmother grew in her garden when I was a child! Named after the Greek god of healing, White Peony is also a character from Chinese mythology, described as the most beautiful courtesan and a symbol of beauty and prosperity. Reminiscent of that fairy princess, this peony’s delicate, transparent petals are expressed in watercolor over a gilded and marbled background pattern.
To use the flower for a love charm, let the earth and air accept the petals but one, which you should carry with you. Release it in thankfulness when your wish is answered.”
… along with many other beautiful paintings. Here’s Carol Putnum with her lovely Rhododendron. Below Janet Parker greets Marcia Lynch as guests and artists mill during the opening reception — a magical night at the garden.
