2022 AWS BANQUET
BEING IN NEW YORK IS ALWAYS A TREAT
2022 is my fourth consecutive year to have a painting accepted into the American Watercolor Society show at the Salmagundi Club in New York, one of the premiere watercolor exhibits in the world. This year’s exhibition features 140 artists from many countries around the globe, working in a variety of watermedia including watercolor, gouache and acrylic. It was great fun to see the show live again. Check out a slide show of all the accepted paintings HERE.
It was great to see old friends and make new ones. The mood was festive and appreciative.
Gail Vines and I posing below my painting, “State Of Wonder”.
Joanna Barnum won the Carl Folke Sahlin medal for her painting.
Jose Sebourne with his portrait. I expect you’ll be seeing more of his work.
I met Judy Saltzman who is show chair for the NWS International Open Exhibition and her husband. She had a very lovely and intricate painting in the show.
A good showing for the first in-person AWS banquet since 2019!
Here’s Hu Ying who I met years ago when I made signature at NWS. She’s again representing her dad, artist Xiao Xing Hu, since he wasn’t able to leave China.
Irena Roman with her fabulous painting that took the Silver medal!
Dean Mitchell’s exuberant dancer, “Gypsy” took the High Winds Medal.
