MARBLING AND COLLAGE
The art forms go hand in hand!

And I’m bringing both to my workshop at Emerald Arts in Springfield Oregon. First I’ll teach you how to marble… then we’ll turn our marbled paper into art.

Making complex marbled patterns is easy if you just follow the steps. Here I’ve marbled over a print of one of my favorite paintings — you can marble any artwork to adapt it.

I’ll show you how to plan, layer and construct different types of collage paintings. Here’s an example of a swan on a marbled background. Notice how I’ve painted the marbling with dark watercolor to subdue the pattern. You can see the paper before painting in the area underneath the swan. Green tape connects the pieces to tack them into place before gluing them together. This allows for making changes as the composition develops.

Don’t miss this exciting opportunity!
